Distinguished Constructor Awards

Distinguished Constructor Awards
On October 21, 2010 Ferris State University, Big Rapids, hosted the 8th annual Distinguished Constructor Awards.   The banquet was held at the Granger Center for Construction and HVACR.   Those receiving Distinguished Constructor Awards in 2010, and induction into the Michigan Construction Hall of Fame, include: Earl H. Beckering, Jr., Beckering Construction Company/Pioneer Construction; Fidell Cashero, Grunwell-Cashero Company; David L. Hamilton, The George W. Auch Company; and Herbert A. Spence, Jr., Matthew H. Spence, Edwin A. Spence, Spence Brothers.

The Distinguished Constructor Award was established to formally recognize the significant achievements made by individuals to the Michigan construction industry. A Distinguished Constructor is someone who has left a significant mark on the industry and community because of consistent service and achievement. Based on qualitative rather than quantitative means, the distinguished Constructor Award Panel identifies nominees who have provided major contributions to the industry or community based on the nominee's involvement as a constructor.

Among those serving on the Distinguished Constructor Award Panel 2010 is Kevin Koehler, president of the Construction Association of Michigan (CAM).
