CAMSAFETY Program
The CAM Safety Program (CAMSAFETY) offers the services of a full-time safety professional with links to a wide network of industry specific safety professionals. Services are customized to fit your specific needs making them a cost-effective way to protect your most valuable asset - your employees - while improving your bottom line. Among the types of assistance available are:
- Jobsite inspections for hazard assessment and injury prevention
- Assistance with MIOSHA inspections, citations and appeals
- Accident investigations
- Review/audit of your company’s safety program, including safety training
- Company-wide personal injury analysis
The assistance provided by CAMSAFETY Professionals will help you reduce your potential for workplace accidents and help your company move toward accident-free jobsites.
GOALS and OBJECTIVES
- To provide cost-effective safety solutions to our members
- Develop safety services that can be purchased individually or bundled together
- Provide safety program evaluations, at no cost, to all members
- Increase and improve safety classes offered through CAMTEC
- Be available to members to answer specific safety questions
- To assist members with keeping safety as a crucial core value to their business
- Provide safety information directly to senior managers]
- Provide up to date information on safety trends and R.O.I. strategies
- To maintain a good working relationship with MIOSHA
- MIOSHA Alliance signed August 9, 2005
- To continue to offer safety programs required under the MIOSHact
- Assist members with MIOSHA inspections and citations
- Implement the provisions of the alliance
- To establish partnerships and alliances with outside entities that will benefit CAM members
- Partnering with other entities to provide cost reductions on specific items such as safety equipment and specialized training
- Participate with the Greater Detroit Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers
- Participate in the Michigan Safety Conference – Construction Division
- To promote safety in the construction industry
- Write educational articles for the CAM Magazine, E-Newsletter, and our website
- Publish CAM Safety Alerts periodically to “get the word out” on what is happening in our industry
- Develop and promote the Construction Safety Training Workshop a one-day, hands-on, field safety training event.
- To recognize outstanding safety achievement among our members
- The 2007 CAM Safety Achievement Award program solicited 41 entries for awards.
- To promote and facilitate interaction and networking among our members regarding safety
- CAM Safety Committee consists of Safety Professional from 21 member companies representing an assortment of industries
- Encourage committee members to attend CAM events
- To provide cost-effective safety solutions to our members
- Act as a “safety department” for members
- Review, update or develop new written safety plans
- Conduct site safety audits
- Conduct training
- Assist with MIOSHA recordkeeping
- Assist with MIOSHA inspections or appeals
- Assist with accident investigations
